Healthy Meal suggestions for Outback Steakhouse

Hadn't been to Outback for while after riding the Texas Roadhouse wave. Went last week, weekday, party of 6 including 1 infant and 1 toddler. Our server was Aubrey, and she make me remember that eating out is made or broken by the service. She was attentive, got every order perfect, suggested things before we realized we needed them, and obviously provided oversight on the quality and presentation of our food. She was open and accurate about food suggestions during ordering so were i might have been disappointed otherwise, i ordered with eyes open and my expectations were exceeded! It was a perfect meal with family. And, by the way, the food was good too!

They have a nice selection of gluten-free options if you need that sort of thing. It is always busy, no matter when I show up, which is a good sign. If you go at lunch, the lunch specials are reasonably priced and are the right portion size for me (not too much). The french onion soup is pretty good. Most places, especially chains, will make it too salty, but Outback made it just right...

Dined on 12/12/12 We had a quick little impromptu dinner at Outback. Our food was tremendous. Our server Rob was quick, efficient, and polite. We enjoyed great, no fantastic service... thanks Rob. He went out of his way to ensure we had a great dinner and evening (4 stars for food & service). Offering a military discount 10% for an extended time... (1 star)

This is one of our go to places for a good family meal, or a nice lunch out. The drinks are always fantastic. The food is always good and even if there is a wait the staff is polite and quick to try to get you seated. *Did I mention that I love their house mixed Sangria?] It is never a disappointment to go here for a meal. The staff is well trained and polite and there is always a manager who stops by to say hello and make sure of that. Last time we went was for my son's birthday and the server went out of her way to make sure my steak was the way I wanted it, while she was training someone! On top of that, my son opted to not get dessert she told her manager who stopped by and gave my son a card for one next time he comes in. VERY awesome and not something she had to do.

You know what Outback is. And this one is no exception - EXCEPT for the service is so dependent on who you get as your server. I have had exceptional service and I have waited 45 minutes for a meal regardless of how busy they were. I am looking for an exceptional server and I may ask them for their schedule so I can come when they're working.

One if the best Outback's in the country. I've totally given up on the Outback where I live in IL. But when I ordered my large Fosters draft, they said they were out. That's like McDonald's running out of French fries!!! But I did have an oil can Fosters in a frozen mug.

If I could give this outback zero stars I would, I've never had a good experience here. Went here with my girlfriend two days ago and ordered two drinks and a bloomin' onion, and asked the waiter to give us a couple minutes to decide on what we wanted. He must have taken that as leave us alone for about 50 minutes because we never saw him again. Our onion came out and we ate...still no sign of our waiter. Then finally after about 50 minutes he comes by and takes our menus. I inform him we have yet to order, he then says ok and stands there as if nothing out of the ordinary happened. I told him about his lack of waiting and then told him we would just like the check please. The bill comes out and it's 8.70 and I give him a 20 and he brings me back 12 I said this isn't the right amount of change. He tells me they don't give back "coin change" then tells me "don't worry about it". Thanks pal 70 cents off of the worst experience I've ever had out to eat. I've had several experiences like this one and now refuse to ever go back. If you appreciate good service look elsewhere.

Another excellent meal and service at this Outback. Called ahead for seating, and waited only 10 minutes to be seated on a very crowded evening. The steaks were cooked to perfection, our server did an excellent job, and we even got a free dessert as it was my birthday! We eat here often and love that there is a 15% discount with the AARP card M-Th. I highly recommend this restaurant......try it....You won't be disappointed!

I dined here last night with colleagues. This was my first time in an Outback Steakhouse. We enjoyed the meal. The appetizer mushrooms were juicy. The steak and lobster tail combo was excellent with a juicy tail and the steak cooked medium rare as requested. Service and food were consistently good and I would recommend this to others.

This place is always crowded, so make sure to get here early if u don't want to wait. Otherwise, the food is always solid, albeit a little expensive. I got the classic cheeseburger with fries and it was delicious. Steaks are good too, just pricy. This is a solid spot for a family dinner.

Waiter was extra friendly but lacked in attention. Took forever to get a refill or an extra napkin. Other than that it was a basic experience. No food problems, dishes came out quickly.

I took my mother there for a belated Mother's Day celebration, the Tuesday afterwards. We usually order the prime rib. But when we ordered it there was no mention that they were out of it. We sat had a drink ate our salads and appetizer. Then we were told we couldn't get what we ordered. They apologized and offered us anything else. But this was the second time this has happened to us. Tell me ahead of time and I'll go somewhere else. Don't wait until we were ready to eat our entrees. The manager was good about it, but that isn't the point. It was 6:30PM on a Tuesday. They shouldn't be out of a popular dish at that time. Strike Two. It will be a while to go back and let them try for strike three.

The food was great except we had service issues. - My Porterhouse had to go back for more cooking. I ordered medium-well and it arrived medium almost rare. - The waiter totally left out our grilled Shrimp we ordered. They ended up giving them free when we reminded the Manager about it. Overall not bad and we would go back again but hope next time it's smoothe.

Always crowded, even in a restaurant saturated area. We always get lucky in the first come bar area seating. Had an issue with the bar once, they are usually slow to get you drinks here, but one time, I had a filthy glass and watched as they poured the same wine into a new clean glass. Mentioned it to management and got a $25 certificate! Steak temperatures have been a bit under what we ordered, but that's better than too cooked. Not a lot of attention to detail with the staff, but expected. Curb side take-away available.

Nice service. The steak had good flavor but had a lot of gristle.

I am saddened to write this but feel that maybe the ownership will finally get a manager that can run the place during peak hours. If you go off peak the review is totally different. First forget being handicap in this place. They squeeze the tables so close you are never getting by. Next it took 30 minutes to get a blooming onion that was on a plate so hot it would burn your hand. Obviously under the lights so long that it was mush. Waiter apologized about 50 times all night. Entire dinner took 2 hours to get and we had to beg for our check. I was served my steak raw with no sides, because we are "redoing them since they were not perfect". ???????? Well hell check this raw piece of meat with you. After hubs and I finally got our meal it was the same raw food that they gave us to start, just MICROWAVEDDDDDDDDDD. Ever ate microwaved vegetables after they've sat around. Shoe leather....errrrrr. The best part of the meal came when they brought me new broccoli that was steamed and tasted great on the first bite. Then I realized, to my horror, that bite was NOT gluten free. OH DEAR GOD....yep....I was home taking meds trying to stop the pain within an hour of eating. The managers response to our horror was "I told them not to take you out the broccoli"....OH WOW.....If there is a wait in Bel Air turn around.

I came here last Friday night. It was pouring rain so I had to run through the carry out door and walk through the restaurant. The staff was very friendly and had no problem with people walking across the place due to the rain. I had only a 5 minute wait. I was pretty shocked considering it was a Friday at 7:30pm. I guess the rain really kept people away. My waitress was friendly and patient. My nephew is 2/ he is a nightmare and she handled him extremely well. The only complaints I have is my food was way too salty and my waitress was friendly but would disappear for 20 minute blocks. Some of us were without drinks for some time and we needed our plates picked up so my nephew wouldn't try to throw things off the plates. Our plates sat empty on our table for 30 minutes.

The food is okay though the quality seems to have decreased. My dressed baked potato was not fully dressed (only had butter and sour cream) and the brownie chocolate thunder from down under was over cooked and dry. The quesadilla appetizer was fried and very oily. It was rather disgusting. Service was great though, so I have to give them credit for that :)

Went here with a pretty big group the other day, and the service was pretty good. The food was good too, I had the teriyaki sirloin with green beans and mashed potatoes. Delicious :)

Saturday nights are your enemy. But, that's no reason not to come in for a Victoria filet and a cold Sam Adams! The wait was a little lengthy and the lobby area was packed with people. They did try to make up for it by having a girl come around frequently with samples of some of their menu items. Really can't complain for going out on a weekend night when you know everywhere is going to be busy. We had a coupon, so, might as well use it!
